Move along! Nothing to See Here!

They say not to take a picture without having some sort of story in your head as to why capturing this image matters….and the two photos I took tonight tell a great story!

The story is of denial of service:

President Obama came into Manhattan today and large sections of the streets were closed off… Where I do alot of lunchtime tromping about for photos. How exciting!!

YAY! So, I wanted to see my Mom’s President, take pictures… and so used my break time to come downstairs, fully prepared to weather yet another snarky look from professional photographers (there weren’t any!). Got my new lens out and…the police kept telling me I couldn’t take any pictures. I moved three times and then stood with the crowd, snapping away at every setting I could think of with my news lenses.

Of course, I personified the idea that the only thing worse than an “idiot camera” is the idiot who doesn’t quite know her camera and so moves every dial…thank goodness for Flash cards!

But, no danger to anyone. But, this is real, not a game, so I moved every time they asked me to. And, started looking for other quarry.

But, there were a LOT of other things to see tonight! it was really warm, so there was a tremendous amount of mist at the tops of buildings. Kinda magical!

Nothing to see here?

Ah but there is!
